The BC Jewish Community Archives is a vital community resource, charting the rich 150 year history of Jews in BC. From frontier shopkeepers to politicians and judges, titans of industry to photographers, professors and surgeons, our community has contributed in countless ways to the growth and improvement of life in BC. The BC Jewish Community Archives is the place where we and future generations can learn about these impressive accomplishments.
For over 45 years, the Archives have grown to comprise over 300,000 photographs, 300 metres of material, and 750 of oral history interviews, all stored in environmentally controlled facilities that ensure the continued preservation of these materials for years to come. The collection is organized and indexed according to the highest archival standards, making material easily accessible and quickly searchable for research.
By making a three-year annual commitment at one of the following levels, you become a Sustainer of the Archives, helping to preserve and grow our community’s archives, making materials available for research, and protecting the history and heritage of the BC Jewish Community.
