Tell Your Organization’s Story

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Jewish Museum and Archives of BC, the JMABC is preparing a commemorative book honouring the people and organizations who built our community.

Ensure your organization’s story is included!

The JMABC 50th Annivesary Commemorative Book will be an elegant keepsake documenting the history of our community. It will provide our youth and future generations with an unparalleled opportunity to learn about those who came before them.

We invite you to write the history of your organization for inclusion in this important publication.

This text should be approximately 150 – 300 words long and feature highlights of your organization’s history. Consider including the following themes:

  • Origins: Founders of your organization, original purpose or objective.
  • Historical overview: pivotal moments or events in your history.
  • Primary activities in the past and present.
  • Notable members and their contributions.
  • How has your organization responded or adapted to changing needs of the community? (i.e.: immigration, changing demographics, COVID-19).
  • Anything else you would like to highlight that will enable the community to understand your role in our history.

We also welcome original photos or digital scanned photos at 300dpi or higher, and your organization’s logo if you would like it to be included (vector files preferred).

Please note that all submissions will be edited for consistency and accuracy.


While financial support is not a prerequisite to participation, we encourage all organizations to contribute to achieving this valuable community project. Recommended contributions are $1,500 for larger organizations and $250 for smaller organizations. All contributions are deeply appreciated.
